Gary Neville and Ryan Giggs' hospitality company GG Hospitality has announced plans to expand its hotel and restaurant brands into Europe and Asia following their successful debut in the UK.

The pair, who co-own the business with Singaporean based Rowsley Limited, said its Manchester hotel Hotel Football had enjoyed a successful first 18 months and could be replicated elsewhere alongside its Cafe Football restaurant brand.

Cafe Football's first site opened in Westfield Stratford in 2013 with a second following at Manchester United. A third is set to open at the National Football Museum by the end of the year.

With further UK expansion plans underway - a 200-bedroom hotel in Manchester's St Michael's development and a 35-bedroom boutique hotel in Manchester are in the planning - Neville said now was a good time to look further afield.

“It was very important for us to prove that our brands worked in the UK before considering expansion and, following on from the success of Cafe Football and Hotel Football Old Trafford, we’re now in a strong position to introduce our brands to a global audience," he said.

“We have several exciting developments nearing completion in Manchester that we’re looking forward to launching, both later this year and into 2017, but we’ve always said we’re an ambitious team and we’re looking forward to the challenge that launching our Hotel Football and Cafe Football brands in new countries presents.”

GG Hospitality believes there is scope to open another 5,000 new rooms around the globe over the next decade while its first overseas restaurant will open in Singapore in 2017.
