Over 1500 investors have helped the Somerset-based brewer raise nearly £1.5m, with a week still to go until its campaign ends.
The company, which was founded by Californian chef Bret Ellis and Andrew Cooper in 2012, will use the funding to build a ‘destination brewery’ at the Bath & West Showground in Somerset, complete with restaurants, bars, and a visitor experience.
It will be 10 times larger than their current Westcombe brewery, with private dining and kitchen gardens to supply fruit and vegetables to the restaurant.
The team is also hoping to expand its wider food business following the success of its first two Wild Beer restaurants in Bristol and Cheltenham.
Writing on the group's crowdcube page Ellis and Cooper said: “Thanks to everyone who has invested so far, we're excited you've decided to share this journey with us.”
The Wild Beer Co team are not the first brewers to turn to crowdfunding to expand their business. Last year Scottish brand BrewDog raised £19m to grow its bar estate and open a craft beer-themed hotel in Aberdeen.
