Vegan, sugar-free, wheat-free and alcohol-free restaurant group Redemption has achieved its crowdfunding target of £300,000.

The virtuous London concept - which has sites in Notting Hill and Shoreditch - launched its campaign on the Crowdcube platform on 14 March.

Redemption’s crowdfunding success sees it give away just over 10% of its equity, meaning that the business has been valued at over £3m.

The money raised will go towards the opening of two new sites – one in Covent Garden and the other on Southbank Place - with a future goal of global expansion through franchising.

Established by former brand director of Virgin, Catherine Salway and New Zealand restaurateur and raw vegan chef, Andrea Waters, Redemption serves plant-based, vegan and gluten-free food, refined sugar-free raw desserts as well as alcohol-free cocktails, wine and beer.

“We are delighted to have reached our funding target - some amazing forward-thinking investors have helped us to spread our wings and fly! We can’t wait to get more sites open so that more people can ‘spoil yourself without spoiling yourself’,” says Salway.
